Discover Lakeside Trails with yukvar Ltd

We're passionate about bringing the natural beauty of Ross Castle and Lough Leane to pensioners and walking enthusiasts. Since 2019, we've been crafting accessible walking experiences in Kerry's most scenic locations.

How It All Started

A genuine commitment to accessible outdoor experiences

Yukvar Ltd began with a simple observation. We noticed that older adults in Kerry were missing out on the region's incredible natural heritage — not because they lacked interest, but because information about accessible trails was scattered and often incomplete. We decided to change that.

The Ross Castle shore path caught our attention first. It's genuinely beautiful, and we're talking about one of Ireland's most iconic settings. The views across Lough Leane are something special, especially during those quiet morning hours when the water's perfectly still. But here's the thing — not everyone knew the best routes, where the gentle slopes were, or which sections had proper seating.

That's where we came in. We've spent the past several years mapping routes, testing accessibility, and building guides specifically designed for pensioners and those looking for easier walking options. It's not complicated, really. We just wanted to make sure nobody missed out on these amazing spaces.

How We Work

Our approach combines practical experience with genuine care for our walkers

Detailed Mapping

We don't just mark trails — we document elevation changes, rest areas, water access, and shelter locations. Every detail matters for safe, enjoyable walks.

Real Feedback

We listen to walkers. Their experiences shape our recommendations. We're constantly updating information based on what actually works on the ground.

Safety First

Accessibility isn't an afterthought for us. It's built into every guide, every recommendation, every route we share. We've tested these trails ourselves.

What We're Committed To

1.

Accessibility Without Compromise

We won't recommend a route just because it's pretty. It has to be genuinely manageable for older walkers. That means checking terrain, testing difficulty, and being honest about challenges.

2.

Living Guides

Our information changes with the seasons, weather, and ground conditions. We're not sharing static PDFs from 2015. These guides are current and practical.

3.

Community Building

Walking shouldn't be lonely. We're fostering connections between people who share a love of Kerry's natural spaces. You're not just getting information — you're joining a community.

4.

Honest Storytelling

We love these trails, but we're not hiding the difficult bits. Every route description includes what to expect, where you might struggle, and how to adjust if needed.

Important Information

The walking guides and trail information provided by yukvar Ltd are designed for educational and informational purposes. While we've tested these routes and prioritize accessibility, individual experiences vary based on fitness level, weather conditions, personal health factors, and seasonal changes. We recommend consulting with healthcare professionals about your ability to undertake any walking activity. Weather and ground conditions can change rapidly, so always check current conditions before heading out. We're not liable for personal injuries or accidents that occur during your walks — responsible outdoor recreation requires personal judgment and awareness of your own limitations.
